The Desert Rivers Credit Union in Moab is expanding to Blanding.

President and CEO Samuel Crane in a statement from the credit union said construction of the Blanding branch at 1 South Main Street is “on schedule and plans are to open on April 25.”

Crane said the grand opening would start the week of April 29 with a noon ribbon cutting ceremony.

Tranner Sharpe of Blanding will manage the branch. Crane said a so-called loan center operated in Blanding for the past three years. Vice President Taylor Harrison said that the success of the loan center gives him the confidence to believe the expansion to a full-service credit union will increase its growth in the area.

The 2,600-square-foot expansion includes all traditional banking services, a drive-up window and an ATM, said Crane.
