Carl “Quincy” Bierschied II was born in Moab, Utah on Dec. 13, 1981. He died April 13, 2019. All who knew him loved his kind heart and generous spirit.
He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. His kids were his world. One of the great pleasures in his life was being out with his kids, enjoying life camping, fishing, rafting and having fun.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. He loved the freedom and peace that nature provided for him.
He always had a thirst for knowledge and loved to read. He was well versed in many subjects. He enjoyed a good debate and was keen to express his views of the world.
Any topic of discussion was fair game.
His sister remembers when they were young, he would disassemble electronics and anything that he could to see how it worked. He easily grasped complex concepts.
He grew an amazing garden every year. He took great pride in his “higher than your head” tomato plants. He canned and preserved the food he grew.
He shared a special bond with his father. They enjoyed many similar hobbies and activities and joys in life.
He is survived by his father, Carl Quincy Bierschied, La Grande, Oregon; mother, Jessie “Ann” Broncheau (Dave Bristol), Missoula, Montana; brother, Levi (Sarah) Hickman, Grand Junction, Colorado; sisters, Jamie (Kelly) Bierschied, Moab; Michaela (Dresden) Beier, Farmington, New Mexico; son, Carlin; daughters, Clair and Celia, of Moab; their mother, Josy Loveridge, Moab; girlfriend, Aubrey Brewer, Moab; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Spanish Valley Mortuary, 386 North and 100 West in Moab. A celebration of his life, reception and barbecue will take place at noon at Old City Park.
