The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation released the name of the man who drowned at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation on April 18 as 79-year-old Spanish Form resident Peter Tomadakis.
Tomadakis was shore fishing with a friend. As they walked along the shore near Freedom Bridge, Tomadakis slipped and rolled down the bank and into the water at about 3:40 p.m.
His elderly friend was unable to help and called 911. Deputies from Duchesne County retrieved the body, according to a statement from the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation.
