Spanish Fork man drowns at state park in eastern Utah’s Duchesne County

The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation released the name of the man who drowned at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation on April 18 as 79-year-old Spanish Form resident Peter Tomadakis.

Tomadakis was shore fishing with a friend. As they walked along the shore near Freedom Bridge, Tomadakis slipped and rolled down the bank and into the water at about 3:40 p.m.

His elderly friend was unable to help and called 911. Deputies from Duchesne County retrieved the body, according to a statement from the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation.
