Thanks to Doug McMurdo for his editorial on minimizing water usage in Moab. Water is life, and our resources are limited. I try to be very mindful of the water I use in my home and yard.
What I’m wondering is how our limited water resources are going to support the number of hotel rooms they’re supporting, with increased numbers every year? I hope that the hotels are installing (or converting to) low-flow toilets and showerheads that minimize water usage. If not, can we somehow make this a requirement of building/running a hotel in Moab? And can we somehow prohibit putting a water park in the area?
It’s hard to ask residents to scale back when we have what appears to be unlimited development putting more and more demand on our water supply. The same rules should apply to all of us.
