Community Rebuilds will unveil three new houses on June 26 in a series of open house events from 3 to 7 p.m. Local residents Chelsea Cobb, Taz Sorg and Sheila Strahan are the new owners of the nonprofit’s 28th, 29th and 30th homes in Moab. They are located at 2812 Spanish Valley Dr., and at 476 and 386 Huntridge Dr.

Community Rebuilds in a statement said of the homes, “We welcome you to feel their earthen plasters, walk on their adobe floors, learn about their solar pv systems, and stay cool in the summer heat thanks to the power of straw insulation.”

Instructors, students and homeowners will be available to answer all of your Community Rebuilds-related questions.

Refreshments will be provided. There will also be live music performances followed by a jam circle that is open to all. Music will start at 5:30 at the Huntridge Drive homes.

There will also be a silent auction during the open houses. If you have any items you would like to donate to the auction, contact Jordan at [email protected]. Donations are tax deductible “and will help us to fulfill our mission to build energy-efficient housing, provide education on sustainability, and improve the housing conditions of the workforce through an affordable program,” the organization stated in a press release.
