Walt Dabney during a recent open house at the Grand Center leads a discussion on work the Grand County Change of Form of Government Study Committee has and will continue to do in creating the county’s next form of government. Two more open houses are planned, and attendees will be asked to take a short survey as part of the process.

There are four optional plans to choose from: a county commission, an expanded county commission, a county council with an elected executive or mayor who will have veto power, or a county council with an appointed manager, who will have more authority than an administrator.

The next open house gets underway from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Grand Water and Sewer Service Agency, 3025 Spanish Trail Road. The final open house is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 17 at the Castle Valley town building in Castle Valley.
