Grand County opened a new hiking/biking trail June 10, according to Madeline Logowitz, division manager of the county’s active trails and transportation department.
“That was one of our main spring projects,” said Logowitz. “The trail connects the Amasa Back parking lot to the Amasa Back trail network. Formerly, hikers and bikers had to park and then walk or bike down Kane Creek Road, which was developing into a safety issue with traffic.”
The trail is 1.7 miles and roughly parallels Kane Creek in the canyon bottom.
