The contractor working on the Highway 128 improvement project will begin night work beginning July 10. Nielson Construction alerted Grand County to the shift change, saying work on the River Road will run from 4 p.m. through 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
The project is from milepost 21 to the highway’s junction with Interstate 70. Trucks will haul material and paving crews will be on site. The work will begin at I-70.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and flaggers and a pilot truck will be used to keep delays to a minimum.
Properties that could be impacted as work progresses include those at mileposts 33.2 and 31.1, a ranch; 29.7, Dewey Campground; 22.9, Hittle Bottom Campground; 22.5 to 21, homes on Fisher Towers Road; and 21, Lower Onion Creek Campground.
