Tuesday landline failure blocks some calls

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Tuesday, July 9, that a break in a Frontier fiber line had interrupted landline phone service in the area and some wireless providers, including emergency calls, were temporarily rerouted to Grand County.

The post said that Frontier Communications, which owns the services, was working on repairs that would resolve the issues but did not know how long they would take. “If you need to reach the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office please call our cell phone 435-459-0731,” the post read.
