Moab students Kate McFarland and Jessica Valdes graduated from the University of Utah on May 2, among a graduating class of 8,465 students who received their academic degrees.
McFarland graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.
Valdes graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies.
The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City, is the flagship institution of higher learning in Utah, according to a press release from the university. Founded in 1850, it serves over 31,000 students from across the U.S. and the world. The university offers 72 major subjects at the undergraduate level and more than 90 major fields of study at the graduate level, including law and medicine.
