DWR: Fish are biting well from Hidden to Oowah lakes

The Division of Wildlife Resources reports good fishing throughout southeastern Utah.

Here are updates on a number of local lakes.

Blue Lake: Accessible and has been stocked. Fishing should be great for brook and tiger trout.

Dons Lake: Water is clear and the temperatures are cool and refreshing away from the summer heat, wildlife officials say. New bathrooms have been put in at the parking lot. The fishing is fine. Rainbows are biting – 10” to 12”. Try using a jakes or a leech pattern.

Hidden Lake: Water is clear and new bathrooms have also been put in at this lake. There is fast action with rainbow trout, 10” to 11”.

Oowah Lake: Great fishing! Brooke trout up to 12”. Bait and fly–flies are working really well! Caddis flies and grasshoppers are also working well, according to the DWR’s most recent fishing report.
