Grand Junction’s Sutherlands closing after 25 years

After 25 years, the hardware and home improvement store Sutherlands will close its doors after its lease in Grand Junction, Colorado was not renewed, according to a report in the Grand Junction Sentinel.

The store at 2405 Patterson Road is selling all products at a discount and the store will close once that stock is gone.

The newspaper said the new hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. It’s closed Saturday and Sunday. The Sentinel reports Mesa Mall is “exploring opportunities with new tenants,” including retail, dining, entertaining, health and even a grocery store, but mall manager Paul Peterson told the newspaper it was too early to announce any specifics.

While it’s closing in Grand Junction, the store is part of a chain that does business in 13 states, according to the Sentinel. Once the store closes in Grand Junction, the next closest to Moab will be in Fort Collins, Colorado.
