    Editor,

Grand County School District needs you! If you have a day or two a week to help in educating our students, or if your children are now in school all day and you would like to work the same hours as your children, please sign up as a substitute teacher.

Now that school is back in session, we have discovered that there are very few substitute teachers available to work with students when teachers are not able to be in class. We want to spread the word and encourage locals to consider becoming a sub.

“Being a substitute teacher is a challenging and rewarding experience. You will learn. You will grow. You will have fun. You will teach. And you will be an important role model demonstrating that our community cares about our kids!”, stated Kris Marsh, former sub and now an aide in the Academic Support Center at the high school.

You will earn $12 an hour, work only when needed and it’s convenient for you. You will need to pass a background check. No college degree is required.

Please call Tiffany Gill at 435-259-5317 for further information. Or check out the district website at grandschools.org.
