Shasta Dawn Lisonbee was born Aug. 13, 1991 and is survived by her mother, Corina Stevenson; her little sister, Miranda Mae Stevenson; a 6-year-old daughter, Destanee Starr Prichett; grandparents, Ernie and Susan Lisonbee; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Shasta graduated from Grand County High School in 2009, where she received the Governor’s Student Award after earning the highest grade point average in the graduating class.
Her biggest passion in life was working with kids. She wanted to attend college and get her license to become a professional child care specialist and open up her own daycare.
Those who knew Shasta were truly lucky. Her contagious smile could light up any darkened mood, her personality was so bubbly and perky she could always make you giggle when the need to cry was heavy on your mind.
She was the type of person who would always help a friend or family member in need no matter what problem she was facing on her own. Her heart was pure and she loved everyone and everything. She would sing when the radio was broken to just bring out the laughter, her poetry and words were so inspirational they would help you see beauty in the places you never thought to look.
She was the perfect mixture of strong yet sweet. The world seemed much better with her in it. Shasta was such an amazing person. Our family has suffered a great unexpected loss. For now the greatest memories will act as Band-Aids for the broken heart, rest in peace dear, for we shall all meet again in a much better place and continue on our journey, for the story never truly ends.
