The Moab Mosquito Abatement District in a rare Saturday meeting met in closed executive session for more than an hour to discuss the employment of Manager Libby Nance.
When they reopened the meeting to the public members voted unanimously to terminate Nance’s contract.
Personnel issues are not publicly discussed, and the board had no comment. The district has struggled to address one of the more serious mosquito seasons in years.
The board also voted 5-0 to appoint MMAD employee Shanon Amsberry as interim manager and set his salary at $25 per hour.
