The Moab Community Recycle Center will participate in America Recycles Day events Nov. 15-16.

On Friday, Nov. 15, Colorado Document Security will provide free shredding services from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This offer is for residents only and each family is limited to four boxes. No businesses can participate. Meanwhile from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Moab Solutions and the Moab Area Travel Council will provide local recycling information.

Raffle prizes will be available and art projects for kids will be held.

The next day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Moab Solutions is hosting Cash for Cans, offering residents and businesses 30 cents per pound of aluminum cans. A limit of 60 pounds per business will be accepted.

According to Jessica Thacker of the Grand County Solid Waste Special District, the events will take place at the Recycle Center at 1000 Sand Flats Road.

America Recycles Day educates people about the importance of recycling for the economy and environmental well-being, and helps motivate occasional recyclers to become everyday recyclers. America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting recycling within the U.S.
