Colorado runners dominate Moab’s Winter Sun 10K

Grand County High senior and elite cross-country runner Evan Ellison represented Moab well in Saturday’s 37th annual Winter Sun 10K, finishing third out of 183 participants in a race that was dominated by Grand Junction competitors.

Eight of the top 10 finishers hailed from Grand Junction, Colorado and the ninth was from nearby Fruita, Colorado. First place went to Ryan Guldan, Grand Junction, 36, who finished in 35 minutes and 19 seconds. He was followed by Jordan Leblow, Grand Junction, 15, 35:59; Ellison, Moab, 17, 36:53; James Roche, Fruita, 17, also 36:53; Hunter Prather, Grand Junction, 17, 38:10; Jeffrey Fiantaca, Grand Junction, 16, 38:24; Josh Trujillo, Grand Junction, 16, 38:58; Jacob Buddecke, Grand Junction, 16; 39:37; Tyler Stogsdill, Grand Junction, 15, 41:18; and Brevin Currier, Grand Junction, 28, 41:30.
