    The Grand County Red Devils basketball team defeated the Green River Pirates 82-67 on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in Moab. Grand outscored Green River 21-9 in the first, 19-18 in the third and 19-17 in the fourth quarter. Both teams scored 23 points in the second.

    The Red Devils had seven three-pointers for 21 points; Green River picked up five three-pointers.

    Kaine Allred led the team with 26 points, one three-pointer, 11 rebounds and three steals. Eli Hazlett scored 16 points, and snagged 5 rebounds, with two assists and two steals. Luke Williams added 11 points, two three-pointers, nine rebounds, eight assists and one steal.

    Ryelan Jones earned three steals, eight assists, 10 rebounds, one three-pointer and a total of seven points. Rafe Saunders had two steals, and two baskets from three-point land for a total of nine points. Milo Birdwell scored eight points, two rebounds, five assists and three steals. Chasee Croasman had one three-pointer and one assist.

    The team is scheduled to compete in the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic Tournament in Cedar City Thursday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 28.
