Two San Juan County residents who returned from a trip to China are no longer being actively monitored for coronavirus and were at low risk to contract the virus, according to the Utah Department of Health.

UDOH Public Information Officer Charla Haley said the state Health department was not involved in the matter, but have been in contact with San Juan Public Health. The monitoring was a precautionary step.

Haley said there are no reported cases of the virus in Utah, but officials have drafted a preparation plan and a press conference to discuss the issue is scheduled for later today.

Tests are required to detect the virus, formally known as 2019 novel coronavirus. Symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
