We are members of the “more vulnerable” generation to contract COVID-19 and are bored, have cabin fever and are grouchy — but we are well fed!

Since the Grand Center opened up the “Meals on Wheels” program to all seniors we have joyfully received our daily main meal at our front door. We have been doing this since the first week in March. The meals are delicious and nourishing and minimize the need for our own meal planning. A blessing after 16 weeks of staying in or close to home.

Not only are the meals delivered but the “Meals on Wheels” driver, Brenda, chats for a few minutes, brings us outside news and makes sure we are healthy and do not need anything. You cannot imagine how comforting that is.

I cannot imagine preparing a couple hundred meals each day and not know how they are received. Not like we were there eating the meal!

Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to the Grand Center and “Meals on Wheels” staff: Yordy, Verleen, Brook, Brenda, Ken and others for your dedication and effort.

We look forward to someday returning to the Grand Center for meals and the personal interaction with all of you.
