    Phased reopening: Shuttle service resumes at Zion National Park

    The shuttle provides access to trails and viewpoints in Zion Canyon along the Scenic Drive including the West Rim trail, the Emerald Pools, the Riverside Walk, and The Narrows.

    Arches, Canyonlands closed to all park visitors starting Saturday

    A spokesperson for the Southeast Utah Group of the National Park Service said Friday that Arches and Canyonlands would be closed to all park visitors starting Saturday, March 28.

    Bears Ears committee meets in Monticello Feb. 25-26

    The Bureau of Land Management Monticello Field Office will host the second Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 25, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Hideout Community Center, 648 S. Hideout Way in Monticello.

    BLM seeks nominations to site-specific councils

    The Bureau of Land Management on Monday announced that it is seeking public nominations for three citizens’ advisory councils affiliated with specific sites on the BLM’s National Conservation Lands. One of them is the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument advisory committee.

    Although a reservation system at Arches National Park is still a possibility, the idea has been put on hold as park administration searches for other solutions to vehicle congestion woes.
