Two losses to start the 3A playoffs ended the Red Devils baseball team’s season Saturday, May 4 in Juab, where they lost to the Juab Wasps in a lopsided game that ended 1-11 and a much closer 2-3 contest to the Emery Spartans.
The Grand County boys soccer team didn’t miss a beat after a long spring break, shutting out their final two regular season opponents before heading into the postseason undefeated in region.
The Red Devils split a doubleheader with the North Sanpete Hawks on Friday, April 26. The first game was some of the best baseball Grand County has played all season. The Red Devils won 11-1 in five innings.
The Grand County boy’s tennis team had a busy week with mixed results. The team went to San Juan on Tuesday, April 23 and beat the Broncos 5-0. Kai Wainer won first singles 6-0, 6-0. Soren Indegard won second singles 6-1, 6-1. Cody Johnston took third singles 6-0, 6-0. Braxten Pierce and Kasey Kemp took first doubles 6-0, 6-0 and San Juan forfeited the second doubles match.
The Grand County Track and Field team finished third out of the nine teams that attended the Blue Mountain Invitational/Eastern Utah Championship on Friday, April 26, at San Juan High School, in Blanding.
The Lady Red Devils softball team beat the San Juan Broncos 16-1 on Tuesday, April 23, at home. Grand scored 10 runs in the first, five in the second, and one in the third, when the mercy rule went into effect.
The Grand County girl’s golf team attended a Region 15 tournament on Tuesday, April 23, at Green Valley Golf Course, in Washington City. Joopy Bamrungmuang placed seventh in the tournament with 92 and maintained her sixth position on the Region 15 top 12 list with a stroke average of 86.5.
