    Blazes kept Moab’s volunteer firefighters busy on the 4th

    Independence Day 2019 was "coordinated chaos" for the Moab Valley Fire Department, according to its chief T.J. Brewer.

    4th of July goes out with a bang; crowds enjoy park festivities, fireworks

    Moab’s Fourth of July celebration – Red Rock & Blues – began at Swanny Park at 10 a.m. with vendor booths consisting primarily of Chamber of Commerce members. Each booth featured an activity for families.

    Celebrating freedom with free food, music, fireworks

    Moab was alive on Thursday with the sound of fireworks, Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband, children playing and other festivities.

    Fireworks ban in effect

    With the heat of summer baking plants into tinder, state and local agencies are enforcing burn bans and firework prohibitions around the state and particularly in Moab, where the local fire department said that many of the fires in the city earlier this month were human-initiated.

    4th: City designates ball park as zone for personal fireworks

    The Moab City Council voted on Tuesday, June 25, to renew its ban on fireworks on public property and certain other locations in the city, with the exception of the baseball fields on Center Street. Residents are now allowed to use state-legal fireworks at the baseball fields.
