    Former Moab Post Office employee pleads guilty to mail theft

    A former Moab Post Office employee pleaded guilty this week to mail theft by a postal employee. Legal representation for Richard C. Davis reached a plea deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Davis to serve 24 months of probation and 100 hours of community service as part of the deal. Davis had originally pleaded not guilty in January to the charge.

    The Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Postal Service has completed four investigations of the Moab Post Office since January 2010. The earliest led to the prosecution of a mail clerk, but the latest one ended unresolved.
